Multidepartmental issuance of the "Robot Plus" Application Action Implementation Plan to double the density of robots in the manufacturing industry by 2025 compared to 2020

Recently, 17 departments including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Ministry of Education have issued the "Robot+" Application Action Implementation Plan (hereinafter referred to as the Plan), proposing that by 2025, the density of robots in the manufacturing industry will double compared to 2020, the depth and breadth of applications in the service robot and special robot industries will be significantly improved, and the ability of robots to promote high-quality economic and social development will be significantly enhanced.

The Plan clarifies its main objectives, proposes to focus on ten key application areas, break through more than 100 innovative application technologies and solutions for robots, promote more than 200 typical application scenarios for robots with high technological level, innovative application modes, and significant application results, create a group of "robot+" application benchmarking enterprises, and build a group of application experience centers and experimental verification centers. The Plan clearly deepens the "robot+" application in the key field, enhances the basic support capacity of the "robot+" application, proposes to build a collaborative innovation system for robot production and use, build a "robot+" application experience and experimental verification center, and accelerate the development and promotion of robot application standards.

The Plan proposes to improve the teaching content and practical environment of robotics in colleges and universities at all levels, and develop more functions and supporting course content for teaching, practical training, competitions, and other scenarios. Cultivate and introduce high-end R&D talents and standardized talents for robot applications, strengthen international exchange of talents, and create leading talents and innovation teams. Encourage robot enterprises and user units to cooperate with ordinary universities, research institutes, vocational colleges, etc. to jointly build talent internship and training bases, jointly carry out robot application talent cultivation, and provide more employment channels. Organize robot application skills competitions in segmented industries to discover and cultivate more high-quality robot technical and skilled talents.
